A good day every day
Our Work Positive initiative is all about improving the health,
happiness and wellbeing of our people to ensure they have a
good day at work. It kicked off with a really interesting launch
day in January with mindfulness taster sessions, a mental
wellbeing presentation, a bring-and-share lunch and a smoothie
bar. The programme has continued with workshops on brainfriendly
working and resilience.
We've made it a priority to attract the best possible candidates
for our roles and have tackled this in a number of ways.
This year we've worked with Networx to introduce an online
application form and electronic candidate management system.
It's improved the application journey and will help us attract
better quality candidates.
We've also used more selection days as an alternative to
traditional interviews. This gives candidates a chance to really
get to know us, and our recruiting managers an opportunity to
see them perform in different contexts.
Using psychometric assessments has added another dimension
to our decision making too. And our improved role profiles give
candidates a clear overview of what we're looking for, which will
also help us attract the most suitable people for each role.
Our Interact project has continued to develop the way we
communicate with one another. It's given us a much deeper
understanding of each other's roles through activities such as job
shadowing, cross-department working groups and department
updates in meetings.
We've developed the functionality of LCH Interact, our online HR
tool, so it can be used for personal reviews and give our people
ownership of their development plans.
As our teams are increasingly agile in their working, using Skype
and other remote tools has also helped us stay connected.
It's all about people power
We believe that being successful is about
helping others to be successful.
