Setting ourselves up for growth

By 2021 we aim to double our turnover to £7 million. To achieve that, we believe it's vital to stay up to date and give our teams the tools to provide the best quality service in the most efficient ways. So we've continued to invest in our technology infrastructure over the last year.

Software takes the strain

We've made several improvements to SDM, our new housing and finance software system. These include setting up paper-free invoice processing, purchase order processing and automated sales invoicing.

We're also working towards introducing a customer portal, which will enable customers to access their rent statements, pay their rents and report repairs. Other improvements we need to work on are setting up the property register on SDM as it's currently being managed on a spreadsheet. And we plan to start using SDM to manage our void and bad debt processes and the landlord and tenant recharge processes.

Several days saved

We've significantly reduced the time it takes to run our payroll, reducing it from three to five days each month to just two. This is thanks to our new payroll system, Accord Payroll. We're now planning other improvements to Accord Payroll, such as adding our two sick pay schemes to further simplify processes.

Free to flourish

Our teams have really benefited over the last year from our cloud network. They now have seamless access to the tools they use as well as email and instant messaging. And they can access, edit and share documents anywhere at any time and do that individually or together. We're also planning to make more use of file sharing software or apps to improve our teams' cohesiveness.

Our teams have also gained more agility by being able to make calls from either their cloud telephony handsets, company mobile phones or via the software on their laptop (using a headset). We have had some problems with our new cloud telephony system though, including call quality and reliability. We're working on resolving this with 8x8 (the system provider) via ACS (our computer support firm).
